The Midsummer Classic comes to this U.S. Midwest baseball town!

St. Louis' Busch Stadium will host this year's Midsummer Classic. The town is ready for this huge baseball festival, and St. Louis residents are looking forward to once again entertaining the world at the event which was last held in this city in 1966.
Fans will enjoy the many attractions St. Louis has to offer. Known as the “Gateway City,” St. Louis connects the eastern and western United States. The Gateway Arch, St. Louis’ famous landmark, is located in beautiful Jefferson National Expansion Memorial park, visible to fans just two blocks from Busch Stadium. The Mississippi River flows through St. Louis, providing a natural boundary between Missouri and Illinois, and at Busch Stadium, St. Louis Cardinals fans are reminded of their long time rival team, the Chicago Cubs, as they face Illinois just across the river. St. Louis is full of other interesting tourist spots, too, including the St. Louis Art Museum; City Museum; Forest Park, which is larger than New York’s Central park; the St. Louis Zoo, which is one of best zoos in the U.S., and which has always ranked with the San Diego Zoo; St. Louis Union Station….and of course, Busch Stadium.
St. Louis is truly a historical baseball town. The St. Louis Cardinals were the only MLB team in the Western United States until the Brooklyn Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958. Consequently, the St. Louis Cardinals’ fan base is huge, spanning from the central United States to the West Coast, and continuing the fan tradition from one generation to the next.
Red is the Cardinals’ team color. It is also the color for Budweiser, the Anheuser-Busch Company that used to own the team, and that still lends its name to the ballpark, Busch Stadium. Particularly when Cubs series are at Busch Stadium, the stadium is vivid with red and blue, and the energetic atmosphere is similar to that of college football or basketball.
In St. Louis, everyone seems to talk about the Cardinals and baseball, and you’ll find passionate fans from young to old, children to grandparents, students to businessmen. Enjoy this beautiful baseball town and experience the Midsummer Classic!!
